We believe there are 8 crucial areas that require the transformative work of the Holy Spirit and extraordinary collaboration between existing ministries in order to witness spiritual transformation in Canada. These are where we want to serve.
The Context
Canada is currently facing a significant spiritual decline. The practice of disciple-making, which involves following and obeying Jesus’ teachings, has been neglected and is increasingly seen as optional, even among those who claim faith in Christ. As a result, discipleship and the process of making new disciples has steadily declined. Fewer individuals are embracing discipleship, and more people are disengaging from the church and abandoning the Christian faith altogether. Recent data shows a significant drop in evangelical church attendance, from 9% in 2019 to 4.5% in 2023.
Ministry and marketplace leaders have faced challenges in collaborating effectively to spread the Gospel throughout Canada.
The lack of unity and shared mission has resulted in redundant efforts, inefficient resource utilization, and the underutilization of gifted leaders. This has ultimately limited the reach of the gospel message.
Without unified efforts, the potential for maximum impact of the Gospel in Canada will remain unfulfilled, leaving many individuals unreached.
About Us
The 78.7 Collective was established by a group of Christian leaders who recognized the unmet spiritual needs across Canada. Moved by the Holy Spirit, they sought God’s guidance on how to respond to this pressing issue.
Motivated by this reality, the 78.7 Collective actively seeks innovative and Spirit-led solutions to address long-term spiritual, social, and relational challenges. Our primary role is facilitating partnerships among ministries, aiming for greater multiplication and impact in their work. We were founded and funded by entrepreneurs who understand the challenges of building something new and the importance of taking risks. We seek out spiritual entrepreneurs whose unique gifts and calling have the potential to ignite lasting spiritual transformation across generations.
Working behind the scenes, we collaborate with ministry and marketplace leaders to foster greater spiritual growth and to develop churches that effectively make disciples with a missional mindset. Our ultimate goal is to create a synergy where the collective impact of our efforts surpasses what each individual part could achieve on its own. If we succeed beyond our wildest dreams, we will witness a profound Gospel influence in Canada, even though our organization may remain relatively unknown.
